As the day drapes itself in the soft hues of evening, the aroma of crock pot chicken & dumplings begins to weave a tapestry of warmth throughout the home. Each ingredient — a tender piece of chicken, earthy herbs, and pillowy dumplings — melds together, creating a symphony of flavors that dance upon the palate. The slow simmering process transforms these simple components into a comforting embrace, reminiscent of cherished family gatherings and cozy nights spent by the fire.
What makes this dish truly enchanting is its ability to adapt; it welcomes seasonal vegetables and spices, inviting creativity with every pot. A sprinkle of fresh thyme or a hint of garlic can elevate the classic recipe into a personal masterpiece. As you ladle this hearty stew into bowls, the steam rising like whispers of nostalgia reminds us that food is not merely sustenance, but a vessel for memories and shared stories. In every bite of crock pot chicken & dumplings lies the essence of home — a reminder that sometimes, the simplest meals can nourish both body and soul.

Ingredients:
1 Whole Chicken – I like to get a pre-roasted chicken and de-bone it ( it adds so much flavor). However, you can choose to boil your chicken as well.
1 Can of Premade Biscuits (I prefer Grands Flaky)
1 Can of Cream of Chicken Soup
1 Tablespoon of Parsley
1 Container of Chicken Broth
Seasonings per taste (see image below for what I use)
Directions:
Debone Chicken (if you bought a roasted chicken) or boil until done, shred, and place in bottom of slow cooker
Mix cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, and seasonings until well combined
Cover chicken with soup and broth mixture
Cut biscuits into fourths
Roll each 1/4 biscuit into a ball
Drop biscuits on top of the chicken & soup mixture
Cover and cook on high for 4-6 hours
Comfort Food at its Finest
The beauty of comfort food lies not just in its taste, but in the memories it evokes. As you stir the ingredients together, you might find yourself transported to a grandmother’s kitchen, where laughter mingled with the scent of herbs and love. Each bite of chicken & dumplings is a soothing balm against the harshness of winter, a reminder that even in the coldest months, there is warmth to be found in connection — both to our food and to each other. So let your crock pot do the work; allow time to weave its magic as you savor the moments spent creating a dish that will not only fill your belly but also nourish your soul.
