  • 1 Slow Cooker

Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • Lasagne Noodles: Opt for no-boil or oven-ready lasagne noodles as they don’t require pre-cooking and will soften beautifully in the sauce.
  • Mozzarella Cheese: Shredded mozzarella is a must for that gooey melty top layer. Feel free to mix in some provolone or fontina for extra flavor.
  • Marinara Sauce: Choose a good quality store-bought marinara or homemade sauce. This will be the base of your lasagne infusing it with rich tomato flavor.
  • Ground Meat optional: If you prefer a meatier lasagne, ground beef, turkey, or sausage can be browned and added between the layers. For a vegetarian option, consider adding sautéed vegetables like spinach, zucchini, or mushrooms.
  • Herbs and Spices: Fresh basil oregano, and garlic powder can elevate the taste of your lasagne. Don’t hesitate to experiment with your favorite herbs!

Step-by-Step Cooking Instructions

  • Prep Your Ingredients: If you’re using meat or vegetables, make sure they are cooked and ready to go. Drain excess moisture from any sautéed vegetables to prevent sogginess.
  • Layering Begins: Start by spreading a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of the crock pot. This prevents sticking and creates a flavorful base.
  • First Layer of Noodles: Place a layer of no-boil lasagne noodles over the sauce, breaking them as needed to fit.
  • Add Meat or Vegetables: If you’re using meat or veggies, add a layer on top of the ricotta.
  • Mozzarella and Marinara: Sprinkle a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese and then drizzle more marinara sauce over the top.
  • Repeat Layers: Continue layering in this order — noodles, meat/vegetables, mozzarella, and marinara — until all ingredients are used up, finishing with a final layer of noodles topped with marinara sauce and a generous amount of mozzarella cheese.
  • Cook: Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours. The lasagne is ready when the noodles are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let It Rest: After cooking, let the lasagne sit for about 15-20 minutes before serving. This helps it set up and makes cutting easier.
